NRTG to perform ‘Present Laughter’

The Niagara Regional Theatre Guild will perform the Broadway classic of American literature “Present Laughter” this month at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse, located at 530 Ellicott Creek Road.

Written by Noel Coward and directed by M. Joseph Fratello, the comedy features Garry, an aging actor, who still lives life like a young, reckless star of the stage. According to the theatre, the plot follows a few days in the life of this self-obsessed egotist.

The cast includes Robyn Baun as Daphne Stillington; Sheila Brady as Mrs. Erickson; Diane Kolek as Liz Essendine; Dawn Marcolini Newton as Monica Reed; Lori Panaro as Joanna Lyppiatt; Marc Ruffino as Garry Essendine; Chuck Slisz as Fred; Brian Tabak as Roland Maule; Dan Zerpa as Morris Dixon; and Carolyn Quigley as Lady Saltburn.

An opening-night reception, including refreshments and the opportunity to meet the cast and crew, will be held in the theatre lobby immediately following the performance.

All evening shows are at 7:30. These include March 9 and 10; March 16 and 17; and March 23 and 24. A matinee at 3 p.m. will be held March 18 as well as March 24 and 25.

Presale tickets are $17, or $15 for seniors and students with identification. Tickets purchased at the door are $20; for seniors and students with identification, they are $18.

For children 12 years old and younger, the cost is $12.
