Holiday Trunk Show slated

The Project 308 Gallery will present the fifth annual Holiday Trunk Show from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the former NTC Ascension School, 69 Keil St., North Tonawanda. The event will feature 40 local vendors selling handmade gifts. Parking and admission will be free.

Books, gifts to be featured in atrium

“Books Are Fun” will be presenting books and other gift items from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in the Kenmore Mercy Hospital atrium, at 2950 Elmwood Ave.

Winter choral event scheduled at church

The Sociables group of Augustana Lutheran Church will hold a Winter Choral Spectacular at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Rockwell Hall on the Buffalo State Campus. Contact the church office at 832-5720 by Dec. 4 to reserve a ticket.

Good Grief Support Group to meet

The next Good Grief Support Group meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Speaker John Marshal, director of spiritual care at Niagara Hospice, will be speaking on “Grief and the Holidays: Gifts and Giftedness.” For more information, call 835-2220.

American Legion Band to perform

A Christmas concert will be presented by the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas Post 264 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. The 85-member band will be performing a variety of holiday works and is currently directed by Michael Shaw, director of music at Frontier High School. Fire district to collect food donations

The firefighters from the Kenilworth Fire Department will go door to door collecting nonperishable food donations within the Kenilworth Fire District, beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. All food collected will be donated to those in need this holiday season. Residents are asked to place any nonperishable food donations in a bag outside their door for pickup.

‘A Christmas Carol’ to be performed

Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” adapted and directed by L. Don Swartz, will be presented Dec. 8-18, at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. Performances are 7 p.m. Thursdays; 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $18, or $16 for veterans, students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.starrynighttheatre.com.
