Support group scheduled to meet

A Grief Support Group meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 2235 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. The featured speaker will be Ron Opferbeck, who will share his “Journey of Grief” through several losses. Contact the church office at 835-2220 for additional information.

Sandra Lane to host speaker

“Birding Basics and Introduction to Citizen Science” will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Sandra Lane Senior Apartments, 705 Sandra Lane, North Tonawanda. Attendees can enjoy a talk with Dwayn Wood. Learn the basics of bird-watching identification and making contributions to citizen science. Seating is limited, and admission is free. Support Group sets meeting

The Dizziness and Balance Support Group of Western New York will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Kenmore Branch Library, 160 Delaware Road. Soroush Sadeghi, assistant professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences’ Center for Hearing and Deafness at the University at Buffalo, and Terri Baltus, development director for the Vestibular Disorders Association, will be the featured speakers. Alumni Association sets Night Out

The Kenmore West Alumni Association invites all graduates of Kenmore West High School to attend an All-School Summer Night Out event. The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at The Grill at the Dome, 175 Brompton Road, Town of Tonawanda.

Church schedules movie night

A Moonlight Movie Night featuring “Inside Out” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Covenant Church, 345 McConkey Drive, Tonawanda. Individuals are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to watch the movie under the stars. There will be free hot dogs, popcorn and games for all ages. Showtime will take place at dusk.

Congress on Your Corner slated

Congress on Your Corner with Brian Higgins will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 29, at the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center, 291 Ensminger Road, Tonawanda. Residents will have the opportunity to talk directly with someone from Higgins’ office about federal matters with which they may need assistance.
