Hot items to welcome summer at the Chamber

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
TRACEY LUKASIK

Summer gardens are blooming, and the Ken-Ton Chamber has plenty growing in its activity garden for you to participate in.

First is our “Stamp Out Hunger: Year of Dining Raffle.” One lucky winner will receive 12 $50 gift certificates from our participating local restaurants; that’s one for every month throughout 2017, which is a $600 value.

Tickets are only $10, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels. Tickets can be purchased at these three locations: The Ken-Ton Chamber Office, 3411 Delaware Ave.; Key Bank-Delton Plaza, 4248 Delaware Ave.; and Evans Bank, 2800 Niagara Falls Blvd.

The winning ticket will be drawn on Dec. 16, just in time for holiday gift giving. You could knock 12 gifts right off your shopping list or keep them all for yourself.

A list of our participating restaurants can be found at www.ken-ton.org, and we sincerely thank our local eateries for their generosity. Encouraging local commerce, helping Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels deliver hot entrees to those in need, while you indulge in scrumptious dinners all year long? Sounds like a win-win-win. Buy your tickets today, before they are all gobbled up.

The Chamber is also excited to announce a new location, date and time for its annual golf tournament. This year we are calling all golfers to join us on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Sheridan Park Golf Course for a day of fun on the green.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The after-party will be held at the Noco Pavilion, and it includes a hot buffet dinner and cocktails.

Even if you don’t golf, you can still purchase a ticket to attend the after party, which will be a great place to network in a casual environment. Invite family, friends and co-workers.

Lastly, our BizMix Happy Hours will continue through the summer from 5 to 7 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month. June’s host is The River Grill, 70 Aqua Lane Road in Tonawanda. Join us for complimentary appetizers and drink specials. You can RSVP for this event and many others at www.ken-ton.org (events calendar) or call 874-1202.

For a minimal investment, the Chamber will act as the watering can that nourishes your business garden.

Join today and watch it grow, just like these companies recently did: Elderwood Assisted Living, C4CME Kenmore CPR, Phil Redfield Design, and Talarico & Junge Farmers Insurance Agency.

Remember to shop local and keep our businesses blooming all summer long.
