Ken-Ton Closet to hold open house

The Ken-Ton Closet, entering its third year of operation, will hold an open house on Monday, Feb. 1.

The event will begin from 6 to 6:30 p.m. with a brief presentation of the organization’s last year, including a breakdown of expenditures, a financial summary and how residents have helped. The Closet will then be open for guided tours or walk-throughs until 7:30 p.m.

The open house will be held at the Sheridan Parkside Building, 169 Sheridan Parkside Drive, Tonawanda. Enter through door 5. Light refreshments will also be served.

Since its inception, the closet has provided approximately 1,000 children in the Village of Kenmore and Town of Tonawanda with clothing, winter clothes, backpacks, toiletries and school supplies at no cost. It is run entirely by unpaid volunteers.
